Anyone that knows me knows that I am a beauty product junkie! I love to try products and see if they stand up to what they claim. Many years ago, I had a You Tube channel. I would see what the bigger You Tube beauty gurus were talking about. Then I would try the products to see if they were worth “the hype”. Mainly I was curious to see if they were promoting certain products because they love them or if they were getting paid to talk about them. So, when Jen from the Sister Studio showed the Clarins V-Facial Intensive Wrap on her Instagram stories, I knew I had to try it! Then when I saw Blair from Skin by Blair use it on her stories, I just knew this stuff was going to be GOLD. Let me start out by sharing from the Clarins website what this mask is supposed to do.
The 10-minute solution to morning puffiness and swelling caused by stress, heat and hormonal changes. This luxurious cream-mousse mask relieves puffiness to visibly refine facial features with Beautyberry and Ginger extracts, and Escin from Horse Chestnut. Promotes even skin tone to defy dullness with Lady’s Mantle extract. Visibly reduces puffiness, Refines facial contours, Promotes even skin tone, Contains Clarins’ Anti-Pollution Complex.
The reviews on this mask are pretty much 5 stars. I did try this mask two different times to see if I was missing something. I left it on 20 minutes the first time and 45 minutes the second. I noticed no de-puffing (maybe I didn’t have anything to de-puff?) and I did not notice any refining of my face or jaw line. The only thing I could tell is my complexion looked brighter and my skin was super soft. The texture is not like a typical mask. It is like a mousse and you have to apply it pretty thick. The website says to use it 1 to 2 times per week. Jen and Blair also used this mask with a lifting wrap. Basically, it is a chin strap. Kind of like the ones they give you after you have oral surgery etc.. I did purchase the one they used and will try it with this mask to see if this makes a difference.
So, for the price and the small amount you get, I just don’t think it is worth it. It is $61.00 and you get 2.5 ounces. If you use this like you are supposed to you will run out pretty quick. There are many other over the counter options for way less. I love using the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. I will link it here if you want to check it out. I hope to start doing a lot more of these product reviews. Leave a comment if there is something you want me to try and review!
