Friday Faves…and One Fail

Happy Friday!  I tried out a few items this week.  One of them is a huge favorite among several bloggers I follow.  The others ones are recommendations from YouTube beauty accounts.  So let’s dive right in!

The Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer Protect + Perfect:  HUGE Fave!  I was a little skeptical about this at first,  I purchased this during the Sephora sale last month.  I have pretty oily skin.  So the fact it has argan oil in it made me think my face was going to be a greasy mess.  I put this to the ultimate test last weekend by working in the yard.  Not only did it protect me from UV rays (it is SPF 47) it did not make me oily at all.  I have worn it almost every day for a week and I am in love!  I apply a little of my Jane Iredale powder foundation and it looks amazing!  It has a slight tint to it that provides some coverage.  I like applying the powder over it to even out my skin tone.  Five stars!  $36 at http://www.sephora.com

Loving Tan Self Tanner (Dark):  This is what a lot of style bloggers use in their pictures.  So many of them share it I had to purchase and try. It came with a mitt which I highly recommend using to apply any self tanner.  It is a mousse and has a bronzer so it shows where it goes.  This did develop in two hours and the next day I had a beautiful dark tan.  It has a red undertone but states it’s olive in color.  I don’t know, could have been my skintone.  The color did fade some after one day.  It is only four ounces and costs $39.99.  I thought that was a lot for how small it was.  Overall I liked it but would not repurchase.  You can find this at http://www.ulta.com

Bondi Sands Aero Ultra Dark Self Tanning Foam:  I definitley prefer this over the Loving Tan.  It has a nice coconut sent and also shows where it goes.  The only odd thing about this tanner is it comes out a dark green color.  I am not kidding!  As I was applying it I thought it has to turn brown at some point.  Nope!  I went to bed that night looking like the Hulk!  When I woke up the next morning it was a beautiful brownie color and lasted for about four days. This was $23 and I got it at http://www.walgreens.com.

And now for the fail…The Seche Vive Instant Gel Top Coat:  I purchased this off Amazon due to the recommendation of a blogger.  The claim is your polish won’t chip and lasts for several days.  I used this on Tuesday and by Thursday every single nail was chipped.  I usually get the dip nails but the salons have been closed so I thought I would try.  The Seche Clear base coat was fine but the top coat was not good.  Do not recommend and I can’t wait to get into the salon to get my nails back!

I will be trying out a few products next week and will let you know what end up being faves or fails!  Take care and have a wonderful weekend!!
